FANS’ REPRESENTATIVE ON EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
1 August 2010 - At the fans’ meeting held on 8th July, it was announced that provision would be made for Trust members to elect one of their number to serve on the Executive Committee charged with managing the affairs of Stirling Albion FC.
The matter received further consideration at a recent meeting of the Executive Committee when it was noted that attention would have to be given to a number of procedural issues surrounding the call for nominations and voting arrangements, to ensure that, legally, these are in compliance with the Rules of the Supporters’ Trust.
Since our legal advisor is heavily committed currently to finalising a number of complex legal issues associated with the acquisition of the Club, it has been agreed that the election of a Trust members’ representative be revisited in 3 months’ time.
BALLOT RESULT – ACQUISITION OF MAJORITY SHARE CAPITAL
28 July 2010 - The postal and electronic ballots closed at 10.00am (British Standard Time) this morning.
The votes cast In response to the resolution “I agree that the Trust proceeds with the acquisition of a majority of the issued share capital of Stirling Albion Football and Athletic Club Limited” were as follows:
YES – 598

Discussions are continuing in order to fulfil the legal requirements necessary to finalise the acquisition and further news will be posted on this webpage in due course.

NEWS FLASH!!!!
2nd July 2010 - It is with great pleasure that we can announce that the Buy Stirling Albion campaign has ended in success!
You, our members, are now the owners of a professional football club!
Members of the campaign steering group have been locked in negotiations for the past month and this week signed a deal which means that, as of now Stirling Albion is Scotland’s first ever fan-owned senior team!
Of course, the hard work only begins now but it would be wrong not to take a moment to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the campaign so far. Without you, none of this would have been possible. So, on behalf of the whole campaign team, thank you for helping to make history.
Next week (time and date TBA) we will hold a supporters’ update meeting. We know that you will have lots of questions about what happens next at the club. We will try our hardest to answer them then.
Stay tuned for details of the meeting.
Tom
P.S. We’ve had to keep our cards close to our chests while negotiations were ongoing. Now that it’s over expect to see a lot more information coming out so please, check the website regularly to find out all of the latest news.
